Fixing "no available time slots" for a service
Last updated: 2026-08-15
If you've just added a new service and no available times show up at the date/time step of the booking flow, it's usually because no staff member has been assigned to it. The service itself still shows up normally and can be selected in step 1 (service selection) — there's no error dialog. Instead, once a customer picks a date, they'll just see an empty-state message: "No available time slots." This symptom is easy to miss precisely because everything else about the service — name, price, duration — looks correctly saved, so it's easy to assume the problem must be somewhere else.
Example: the owner of "Oldboy Barber" adds a new "Beard Trim" service, carefully filling in the name, price, and duration before saving. The next day a customer selects "Beard Trim" on the booking page and clicks a date, only to find the time list completely empty. The owner assumes it's a system bug, since the service clearly shows as saved — but the real cause is that he never opened the Staff tab when creating the service, so no staff member was ever ticked.
How to fix it
- Go to Admin > Services, click the service to open its edit panel.
- Switch to the Staff tab.
- Tick the staff members who can perform this treatment.
- If "Apply to all staff" is unticked, you must manually select at least one staff member. With none selected, the system has no one to book the service against, so no time slots can ever be generated. In the example above, simply ticking the owner's own name in the Staff tab makes time slots appear on the booking page immediately, with no need to republish anything.
