Kakao AlimTalk templates and sending conditions
Last updated: 2026-08-15
Kakao AlimTalk messages can only be sent using pre-reviewed templates, in line with Kakao's anti-spam policy.
- Biseo has already had the essential templates beauty shops need — booking confirmation, changes, cancellation, reminders, and more — reviewed and approved by Kakao. For example, a confirmation template reads along the lines of "[Salon name]
customer name, yourservice namebooking fordate and timeis confirmed" — those placeholders are filled in automatically from the booking. - You don't need to go through any separate review yourself. Simply connect your Kakao channel and AlimTalk works immediately — whether you run a massage centre or a nail salon, confirmation and reminder messages start going out from the day you connect the channel, with no extra approval step on your side.
- Message content is automatically populated with booking details by the system according to each template's rules, so the wording itself can't be customised.
What happens if an AlimTalk send fails?
AlimTalk can only be sent using a template that has passed Kakao's BizCode approval. If a template hasn't been approved yet, or a resend attempt is rejected by Kakao, the system automatically falls back to sending an SMS instead.
Example: Say a skincare clinic customer is due a reminder for tomorrow morning's appointment, but they recently blocked the salon's Kakao channel, so Kakao rejects the AlimTalk send. The system immediately resends the same reminder content as an SMS, so the customer still gets a text with their appointment time. From the owner's side, nothing needs to be checked or resent manually — it's handled automatically.
In other words, a failed AlimTalk send doesn't mean the customer receives nothing — it's automatically switched to SMS. Note that this fallback SMS still consumes SMS credit, so it's worth keeping an eye on both your AlimTalk and SMS credit balances.
