How does notification channel priority work?

You can set the channel send order under "Notification Settings" in the admin panel.

By default, Biseo tries Kakao AlimTalk → SMS in that order, with Email always added last as the final fallback. It automatically falls back to the next channel if one fails (e.g. the customer doesn't have KakaoTalk).

Example: When a customer at the hair salon "Cheongdam Style" finishes an online booking, Biseo first tries to send the confirmation via Kakao AlimTalk. If the salon has already used up its AlimTalk credit for the month, the system automatically switches to sending an SMS instead. If the customer's mobile number was entered incorrectly and the SMS also fails, but an email address is on file, the confirmation still reaches the customer by email — so they're never left with no confirmation at all.

WhatsApp is not part of the default priority order. It's only used if you set up a custom channel priority order for your business and add WhatsApp to it yourself. For example, a spa or massage centre with a lot of overseas clients might set a custom order that puts WhatsApp ahead of Kakao AlimTalk (WhatsApp → SMS → Email), so messages reach customers who don't use KakaoTalk straight away.

Credits

SMS, Kakao AlimTalk, and WhatsApp each consume credits when sent. Every plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and you can purchase more if you run out. Email and app push notifications never consume credits. For instance, a nail salon handling around 400 bookings a month could burn through its AlimTalk credit partway through the month — once that happens, SMS credit is consumed automatically instead, so it's worth keeping an eye on both AlimTalk and SMS balances, not just one.

Paid plans on a trial have no included monthly credits — you'll need to purchase credits for SMS/Kakao AlimTalk to send during the trial. In that case, booking confirmations only arrive by email, since email doesn't require credit, so it's worth telling customers during the trial period to also check their confirmation email.
