Sending booking notifications to staff

Last updated: 2026-08-15

You can notify assigned staff about booking changes, not just customers.

  1. Check the Internal Notifications section under Settings > Notifications.
  2. You can turn on notifications for new booking assignments, booking changes, cancellations, and each staff member's daily schedule.
  3. Each staff member can turn their own notifications on or off from their personal profile (Me) settings.

Example: Say a waxing studio with three staff members gets an online booking for 3pm, with the customer specifically requesting stylist B. If the owner has turned on "New booking assignment" under internal notifications, stylist B is notified the moment the booking is made. If the customer later reschedules to 5pm, a "Booking change" notification goes out; if the customer cancels that morning, a separate "Cancellation" notification follows — both sent only to stylist B. Stylists A and C aren't involved in this booking, so they receive nothing.

Web push and email work under different conditions

  • Web push notifications: available on every plan. Once a staff member opts in to notifications in their browser, push works immediately, with no plan restriction.
  • Email notifications: a paid feature available on Growth and above only. On Free and Starter plans, staff don't receive assignment/change/cancellation emails or the daily-schedule email — web push still works as normal.

For example, if a one-person nail salon on the Free plan takes on a part-time assistant, that assistant just needs to opt in to web push in their browser to get new booking, change, and cancellation notifications in real time. If they also want those alerts by email, the salon needs to upgrade to Growth — on Free, no amount of toggling the setting will make emails go out.

Be careful not to tell admins that "both email and web push" always arrive — on Free and Starter, only web push does.
