Setting Up Customer Loyalty Points

Last updated: 2026-08-15

Use the loyalty points system to keep your regular customers coming back.

This feature requires a Growth plan or above, and can only be configured by an account with Owner or Manager permissions.

Setting how points are earned

In Settings > Loyalty, choose one of two earning modes.

  • Fixed points per visit (default): A set number of points (e.g. 10) is awarded every time a booking is completed, regardless of the amount spent. This is the mode that's enabled by default.
  • Points per amount spent: A set number of points (e.g. 1 point per A$1) is awarded per unit of the payment amount, so points scale with how much the customer spends.

Both modes award a fixed number of points, not a percentage. Biseo does not support earning points as a percentage of the payment amount.

You can also set a minimum spend threshold so bookings below that amount don't earn any points.

Points are awarded automatically whenever a booking's status is changed to "Completed", based on whichever mode you've configured.

Example 1 (fixed points per visit): Say a massage centre sets "10 points per visit". A customer earns 10 points every time a booking is marked "Completed" — it doesn't matter whether they book a A$120 full-body massage or a A$50 targeted massage. After 5 visits, that customer's balance is 50 points, which they can redeem for a discount at the counter on their 6th visit.

Example 2 (points per amount spent): If that same massage centre instead sets "1 point per A$1", a customer who has a A$120 full-body massage earns 120 points from that single visit, while one who has a A$50 targeted massage earns 50 points. The more a customer spends, the more points they earn.

Point expiry

By default, points never expire. If you want, you can set an expiry period in months (e.g. 12 months since the customer's last points earned), after which any remaining balance for customers with no further activity is automatically cleared. For example, if you set a 12-month expiry and the customer from the example above earned 50 points on their 5th visit but doesn't come back at all for the next 13 months, that 50-point balance is automatically cleared — so there's nothing left to redeem by the time they'd have made a 6th visit.

Redeeming points (applying a discount)

When a customer pays in person at the counter on their next visit, staff can deduct points from the booking detail screen in the calendar to apply a discount. If the customer from Example 1 comes back for a 6th visit and books a A$120 full-body massage, staff can open the booking detail screen and deduct as many of their 50 points as they like (for example, all 50) to discount the bill — any points not redeemed simply carry over for the next visit.
