Using Customer Tags and Notes
Last updated: 2026-08-15
Noting a customer's traits and sorting them with tags helps you give more thoughtful service.
- Customer notes: A notes field only admins can see. Use it to record a customer's preferences or details from previous treatments.
- Tags: Create your own tags, such as
#VIP,#NoShowRiskor#Blacklist, and assign them to customers. Clicking a tag filters the customer list down to everyone who has it.
Example: Say a hair salon owner leaves a note on a customer's profile: "Sensitive scalp — no strong perm chemicals, low-irritation products only." The next time a different stylist takes that customer's booking, they can open the customer detail screen and see the note straight away, avoiding the same mistake. At the same time, if that customer has a habit of cancelling last-minute without warning, the owner can tag them
#NoShowRisk, then later use the tag filter to pull up every#NoShowRiskcustomer at once and decide who should be given a stricter deposit policy.
Tag limits
- Each tag can be up to 40 characters long.
- A tenant can have up to 30 distinct tags in total. If you have already reached 30, remove a tag you no longer use before creating a new one.
No plan restriction
Customer tags and notes are available on every plan, including Free, with no usage limit. No upgrade is required.
