Requested staff bookings (the heart mark)
Last updated: 2026-10-29
When a client asks for a particular stylist ("I'd like Sophie, please"), that's a requested booking. Biseo marks these with a heart (♥) so anyone looking at the calendar can tell this client wants this staff member. It's available on every plan.
When does a booking get a heart?
| How the booking came in | Heart |
|---|---|
| The client picked a specific staff member on the booking page or chatbot | Added automatically |
| The client chose "any staff" and Biseo assigned whoever was free | Not added |
| A waitlist spot that turned into a booking | Only if the client picked a specific staff member when joining the waitlist |
| A booking you create yourself in the admin | Starts off. Turn it on if the client asked for that person |
Bookings you create yourself start with the heart off on purpose. If every phone booking were marked as requested, including the "anyone's fine" ones, the count of how often each staff member gets requested would end up higher than it really is.
Where does the heart show?
- Calendar booking cards: a small heart in the top-right corner. No heart means the booking wasn't requested.
- The hover summary: a heart before the staff member's name.
- The booking detail view: a "♥ Requested" label next to the staff member's name.
- Agenda view: a heart before the staff member's name.
Turning the heart on or off
When creating a booking
- Click an empty slot on the calendar to open the new booking form.
- Choose a staff member under "Staff".
- If the client asked for that person, click the heart button to the left of the staff picker so it fills in.
- Save.
On an existing booking
- Click the booking card to open its detail view.
- Click the heart button to the left of the staff member's name. It switches on or off straight away.
The heart button is locked on completed, no-show and cancelled bookings, because past records are kept as they were. If a heart needs changing, do it before you mark the booking as completed.
Example: Emma rings a hair salon in Melbourne and says, "Can I get a cut with Sophie again, like last time?" The receptionist opens the new booking form, picks Sophie as the staff member, clicks the heart button to its left so it fills in, and saves. Later the same day, Jack calls and says anyone is fine, so the receptionist leaves the heart off. On the calendar, only Emma's card shows a heart, so the rest of the team can see straight away that Sophie should take that one.
Changing the staff on a requested booking
If you move a requested booking to someone else, Biseo warns you before saving: "Emma requested Sophie for this booking."
- The warning appears in two places: when you drag the card into another staff member's column, and when you change the staff in the booking's edit form.
- If you go ahead, the heart is removed automatically, because the person the client asked for was the original staff member.
- If the client told you the new staff member is fine too, turn the heart back on.
- If you cancel, the booking goes back where it was and keeps its heart.
Seeing who a client usually requests
Open a client on the Customers page and, above their booking history, you'll see something like "Usually requests: Sophie (3 visits)".
- Only completed requested bookings from the last 12 months count. Cancellations and no-shows don't.
- It only appears once the client has requested the same person at least twice. One visit isn't really a pattern.
- If two staff members are tied, the one requested most recently is shown.
- In the booking history list, requested bookings also show a heart before the staff member's name.
Good to know
- Bookings made before this feature arrived (late October 2026) don't have hearts. Biseo didn't record back then whether the client picked their staff member. You can turn the heart on by hand in the booking detail view if you need to.
- A heart doesn't lock a booking to that staff member, and bookings without a heart aren't moved to someone else automatically. You still manage staff assignments yourself, as before.
- You can also ask the admin AI assistant things like "Which bookings today are requested?" or "How many requests did each staff member get this month?"
